Our hydraulic hose reels are designed for long-term use in industry, workshops, construction sites and outdoor areas. To provide optimum protection against corrosion, mechanical stress and environmental influences, we offer two high-quality surface finishes: powder coating and galvanising.
Both processes ensure reliable long-term protection, but differ in terms of appearance, protective mechanism and preferred area of application. The choice therefore depends on the environmental conditions and the level of exposure, as the requirements for surface protection vary significantly depending on the application environment, for example in production halls or outdoors.
Powder Coating
In powder coating, the coating powder is applied to the surface to be coated using an electrostatic spraying device and then baked.
This creates a closed, resistant protective layer with high mechanical strength.

Advantages of the powder coating:
- high resistance to impact and scratches
- very good corrosion resistance
- resistant to environmental influences such as moisture
- uniform, robust surface structure
- environmental friendly, solvent-free process
- durable coating solution
Powder coating is recommended if:
- the drum needs to be protected against corrosion ans weathering
- mechanical resilience is a priority
- a closed, clean surface appearance is desired
- typical workshop, industrial or construction site conditions are present
Galvanisation
Galvanisation involves applying a protective layer of zinc to steel components. This forms a strong bond with the base material and provides lasting protection against corrosion.
Even if the surface is partially damaged, the cathodic protection provided by the zinc ensures that the corrosion protection remains intact.

Advantages of galvanising:
- excellent corrosion protection
- high resistance to moisture and salty air
- protection remains intact even with minor damage of the surface
- very long service life
- particularly suitable for aggressive environments
- uniform protection even on corners, edges and hard-to-reach areas
Galvanisation is recommended if:
- the drum is used continuously in particularly corrosive environments
- there is high humidity or a salty environment
- extreme weather conditions are to be expected
- maximum corrosion resistance is required
